About 25 mn cell phones to be disconnected

Come January 6 and as many as 25 million mobile phones could be disconnected by the telecom operators. Concerned about the terrorist attacks in the recent past, the department of telecom (DoT) has asked service providers to disconnect handsets that do not have an international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) number. 

IMEI is a unique 15 digit code that identifies a mobile. It prevents the use of stolen handsets for making calls and allows lawful interception to prove the use of a particular device.

Ask a guy what his favourite pastime is and he is likely to tell you it's sport or checking out the chicks. The second would more often than not win over the first. It's debatable, but it's a close run. For those who can't get out much, there's a new address on the Internet where you could head over and check out them chicks. It's as finely drawn a line as you could ever ask for between pornography and an online directory! It's Chickipedia "http://www.chickipedia.com" and it lists all your favourite chicks in one place. And it has some very useful and essential information as well. Like hometown, birthdate, hook-ups, job, vital stats... what no phone number? Damnit!

As Indians, though, we are outraged. No, no... not because this is against our culture or whatever, but simply because there aren't enough Indian chicks listed on the site. Tata group to rebuild and restore the hotel to its original glory
Ratan Tata, chairman of the Tata group which owns the Taj hotel, surveyed the heritage building which has suffered extensive 
damage in the three days of fierce gunbattle in Mumbai with militants. 

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) said it is ready to offer its expertise in restoring the 105-year old structure. 

The Tata group said it would "rebuild and restore every inch of the hotel to its original glory".

Google asks, "Do you really want to drunk e-mail?"

So it's 3 a.m. and after numerous beers and toxic cocktails, thoughts turn to that girl that got away or the ex that suddenly seems perfect for you.

If you're made of weaker stuff, you might consider e-mailing said person in a vain attempt at turning things around despite the fact that you don't know where your pants are. But as we know friends don't let friends drunk e-mail. And Google, it seems, wants to be your friend.

Start Plus gets notice for "Sach Kaa Saamna"

Hours after the furore in Rajya Sabha over the reality show 'Sach Ka Samana' broadcast by Star Plus, government on Wednesday issued a 

show cause notice to the TV channel. 

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry, which issued the notice, has sought a reply from the channel by July 27. 

Ministry sources said the notice has been issued as the channel allegedly violated the clause 6 (1) ADIO of the programme code which says it offends the good taste and good decency.

Oh my god !!! its utterly hot and humid now in Delhi. The damn split AC has split its ass - not in a working condition.  I had a shower before heading for sleep hoping that I would not wake-up in mid-of night. But good God sake it has started raining that also in mid-June time frame. First i thought that it would be some kind of westerly disturbance. But i was wrong , its monsoon time. Newsmen/weather expert commented that Delhi is experiencing heavy showers after 108 years...
